Bev Dubois

Proudly running for re-election
as City Councillor for Ward 9,
Saskatoon Saskatchewan

Personal life

I was born and raised in Saskatoon, and I am proud that my roots go back to the family farm in the Aberdeen area.  I attended Prince Philip School and graduated from Walter Murray Collegiate and University of Saskatchewan.
I am married to radio broadcaster Vic Dubois who manages Saskatoon Media Group that includes CJWW, 92.9 THE BULL, and 98COOL radio stations.  Our son Patrick is following in Vic’s footsteps in broadcasting as an on air personality (specifically as mornings show host on 92.9 THE BULL) and program director.  Our daughter Michele has two degrees from the University of Saskatchewan and works as the Human Resources Manager at Saskatoon Media Group.  She also sings in two bands.

I have served 4 terms as Councillor for the City of Saskatoon.  I served on almost every civic board, commission and committee including Planning & Operations, Administration & Finance, Audit, Police Commission, Credit Union Centre (now known as SaskTel Centre), Library Board, Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority, Tourism Saskatoon, Municipal/District/Technical Planning Commissions, Saskatchewan Library Trustee Association, Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association, and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

I previously sat on the following city committees as City Councillor:

  • Vice Chair SPC Transportation
  • SPC Finance
  • Governance & Priorities
  • Personnel Committee
  • City Manager Hiring Committee
  • TCU Place
  • Meewasin Valley Authority
  • MVA CEO Hiring Committee
  • Tourism Saskatoon
  • SAMA
  • Saskatoon Accessibility Advisory Committee

My business background includes having been CEO of the Meewasin Foundation, Business and Marketing Manager for Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants, Manager of Investor Relations for the Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority and Vice-President of Canadian Digital Network Ltd.

Community involvement

I am an experienced corporate board member with years of service on local, provincial and national boards and commissions on topics ranging from justice to literacy to urban development and everything in between. I’m currently volunteering with the Ovarian Cancer Saskatchewan (chairing a new event to Saskatoon – Ladyballs: An Evening of the Arts) and the MS Society of Canada (chairing the event WAMS: Women Against Multiple Sclerosis). I have senior leadership experience in marketing, community relations, sales, stakeholder relations, business development and lobbying.
I am a strong believer in giving back to our community and have served in an executive capacity for a lengthy list of organizations including Chairing the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Director of the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame and Museum and was a Senator of the University of Saskatchewan.
